Most of the time, life-changing support at Together for Good happens through host families and parent advocates—and for Jolene, that was true—but for this grandma who is raising her busy three-year-old grandson, support also came through a local mechanic shop.

Veronica spent much of her childhood in foster care, moving from home to home, family to family. As a child, there was little stability and much grief. Veronica longed for the support of a family who would not leave her.

Bethany was quite anxious about TFG and being separated from her daughter, Avery*. But despite her nerves, Bethany agreed to the hosting. She knew that she needed a break—and more importantly—that she needed people to support her as she raised Avery.
