With dropping temperatures at each of our sites – even in Texas– this past month, our volunteers have been so faithful in quickly meeting our participants' urgent needs for warm clothing.
In Texas, winter weather has been harsh, with dropping temperatures and rain. Our case managers checked in with a few new moms who had recently completed intakes for. One of the moms responded that she'd be grateful for clothes in sizes 9-12 months for her baby boy. Another mom reached out asking for warmer clothes for her baby boy when he goes on hosting weekends.
Our Waco Program Director, Kayleigh, texted a few ministry coordinators to put out the need for winter clothes before their churches. One ministry coordinator, Tisha, responded immediately. Within hours of first being asked for clothes, Tisha had collected diapers and clothing and was ready to bring them to the moms in need. Kayleigh shared, "It was such a quick and faithful response to show our moms that they are seen and loved!"
In Iowa and Minnesota, we are seeing the same immediate response when we ask for the practical needs of our participants to be met! One homeless mom in Minnesota reached out to her case manager after her six-year-old son was not allowed to play in recess due to having inadequate winter clothing. Within a few hours of reaching out to our support volunteers, we had a pair of snow pants, boots, hats, and gloves – everything the little boy needed to stay warm.
Thank you for always being ready to serve each participant family!
