VOLUNTEER WITH US

Everyone can and should do something.

Serve Your Neighbors

Together for Good is building a network of trained volunteers who will provide friendship and community to parents in need and create a safe place for children.

When we come together and serve vulnerable families, children are kept safe, parents can heal from trauma, and relationships are formed, creating a lasting impact that keeps families together.

Volunteer roles to help families in crisis

HOST FAMILY

TFG host families open their homes to a child. This is done to provide a break for a single parent experiencing chronic stress or to give a child a sage place to stay when their parent is in an emergency. Host families can be couples with and without children, young adults, or retirees.

PARENT ADVOCATE

Parent advocates come alongside vulnerable parents through friendship, mentoring, and prayer. Typically, advocates meet with their matched participant parent twice per month, either in person or by phone. Parent advocates serve in a variety of ways, such as bringing an occasional meal, helping with a job application, or simply being a friend who listens.

WRAP-AROUND SUPPORT

Wrap-around care supports both participants and volunteers. This looks like diaper drives, providing transportation to church, and making meals for host families or participant families.

The first step in serving with us is clicking one of the above buttons, filling out an interest form, and then attending a foundational training.

What TFG Volunteers Have to Say

"Hosting has been one of God’s greatest gifts to our family. It has been an honor to be trusted with the care of this precious boy, and it has given our family a chance to serve together in ministry.”

Sarah, TFG Host Mom

Volunteer Requirements

As a Christian non-profit, we require all volunteers to adhere to our statement of faith and sincerely held religious beliefs.

This requirement is only for volunteers and not for those who are receiving our services. Together for Good serves all families, regardless of religious beliefs or cultural backgrounds. Our volunteers are trained in cultural sensitivity and trauma-informed caregiving. We seek to show respect and care to all.

1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

2. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

3. We believe in the deity and humanity of Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His present rule as Head of the Church and in His personal return in power and glory.

4. We believe that, for the salvation of lost and sinful people, repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ results in regeneration by the Holy Spirit and that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation.

5. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

6. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

7. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, with equality across racial, gender, and class differences.
