Molly* is a participant mom who connected with Together for Good two years ago. At that time, Molly had a baby boy, Sean*, whom she was desperate to keep. Molly had already lost older children to child protective services (CPS) due to her struggle with substances. Sean was a second chance.
This second chance led her to surrender her life to God, asking Him to allow her to be the mom she was meant to be. Unfortunately, due to her past, she was required to serve jail time. But the judge also gave her a second chance. He told her that if she went to treatment, he would expunge her record and keep her on probation. God was answering her prayers!
It was through the treatment center that Molly was referred to TFG for monthly respite support. She was connected with a host family who hosted Sean regularly while she worked towards healing. Upon completing treatment, Molly and Sean moved into a transitional housing option provided by one of our partner churches. In the past two years, Molly welcomed another son.
Recently, Molly applied for a position with a high-profile manufacturing company. Although nervous that her record with the law would keep her from getting the job, Molly went into the interview with her head held high. Her TFG community – her advocate, host families, and case manager – had encouraged her that her hard work would pay off and offered to pray for her. The confidence Molly's community had was not misplaced. The company called later that week and offered her the position!
You played a significant role in Molly's story and the stories of countless other women through your service and generosity. You may not have been Molly's advocate, host family, or case manager, but you made Molly's story possible. Thank you for ensuring that families do not have to walk through crises alone.
