From Homeless to Hope-filled

Earlier this year, Allison* contacted TFG in Iowa. At the time, she was homeless and staying in a local shelter with her children. She was starting a new job in two days, but her kid's daycare wasn't available for two weeks. One of our referral partners who was working with Allison at the time connected her with our team.

Within a two-day period from her initial contact with Together for Good, we were able to connect her with a host family. Over the next couple of weeks, our incredible volunteers met several short-term hosting needs for Allison.

Even more amazing is that all of the volunteers who stepped in to help Allison were already connected with another participant family. They were willing to open up their schedules even wider to serve Allison and her kids. These families quickly came around, Allison; it was their support that allowed her to keep her job. Allison deeply appreciated each volunteer who supported her during that time. Now, she and her children are living in an apartment through a local church program!
