After a two-year court battle, Allen finally received custody of his 5-year-old son, Bryce*. Bryce was able to move in with his father, leaving a harmful living situation involving severe neglect.
To help alleviate some of the trauma that Bryce had experienced, Allen decided to move to Iowa to give Bryce a fresh start. Allen’s primary goal was to find strong, healthy relationships for him and Bryce in this new season.

Allen knew that community would be the key factor in strengthening him as he parented and ensuring that Bryce was able to realize that there were safe people who loved him.
Shortly after moving, Allen was referred to Together for Good for respite care. Our staff was able to pair Bryce with an incredible host family, and he is currently receiving respite hostings every couple of weeks.
Bryce's host family hadn't hosted prior to being paired with Bryce, but the relationship could not be going better! The family has four children, a few of whom are close in age to Bryce. The kindness of his host parents and the friendship of his host siblings has led Bryce to look forward to each hosting.
His host family is showing Bryce unconditional love during a season of significant change. Thanks to Allen's intentional parenting and TFG volunteers, Bryce's future is full of hope.
Not only is Bryce receiving community, but Allen is also being built up by TFG volunteers. Allen was recently paired with a parent advocate. Allen and his advocate will begin meeting together next month. Will you pray for a deep, life-giving friendship to be created?
No matter the reason that families call Together for Good, our host families and parent advocates readily meet them with open arms and open hearts, ready to provide life-changing relationships.
