When Hannah* was abruptly told she had to leave the shelter she and her six-month-old son were staying at, she called Together for Good. With the dropping temperatures, Hannah didn’t want her son, Michael*, to spend the night outside, but she didn’t have any family or friends that she could stay with.
When Kelsie, the TFG case manager, listened to Hannah’s story, she had the perfect host family come to mind, so she told Hannah confidently that she could find a place for Michael to stay..
This particular host family had just finished the approval process, and they were ready to begin serving. When Kelsie presented the hosting need, they readily said, “Yes!” to caring for Michael.
The same afternoon as receiving Hannah’s call, the host family was picking up Michael.
Hannah was able to find a new shelter option with the comfort of knowing that Michael was with safe, loving people. Even more amazing, the new place that Hannah and Michael are staying is closer to Michael's host family!
When TFG case managers get a crisis call, they know they can promise a host family because of you. You – our faithful volunteers and supporters – are always willing to pause your life for a child that needs you.
This consistent service is why parents continuously call Together for Good. They know there are people who are ready to help.
